What are the requirements to become an agent?
As the emirate’s property sector booms, the real estate profession soars with many looking to pursue this as a career path.
Becoming a real estate agent in Dubai involves key steps to comply with the country's laws. With the booming property sector, many are drawn to this career path. Here's the process:
► Residency Visa:
Non-UAE residents and non-GCC nationals must first secure a valid visa.
► Certified Training:
Aspiring agents need certified training to ensure competence. The Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) offers a comprehensive four-day course covering industry dynamics, legal agreements, ethical codes, and more. This course, accredited by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) and the Dubai Land Department (DLD), equips candidates with the necessary skills.
► RERA Exam:
Following DREI training, candidates must take the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) Exam, assessing their understanding of real estate principles and regulations.
► Agent’s License:
Successful candidates submit their DREI course completion certificate, RERA Exam confirmation, and a good conduct certificate. The Economic Department reviews the documents and issues a Broker’s License, which requires regular renewal.
► Income Potential:
Real estate agents in Dubai can earn up to AED150,000, with the potential for annual income reaching up to AED500,000. As the real estate market continues to thrive, agents play a crucial role in facilitating transactions, according to Simon Pitkin, Managing Director at dV Property International.
